Wild Strawberry

Found in open grassy areas.  Often found on lawn edges of older homes.  Wild strawberries are very sweet and delicious, very small and seldom found.

Birds probably beat me to these tasty morsels !

Red & White Roses with Beach Peas

Low lying dune overlooking Nantucket Sound

Cape Cod is covered with wild flower blossoms.  There are dozens upon dozens of wild flowers that have grown in since the glacier melted back 10,000 years ago. As ice melted back, Monomoy, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard islands were left as Cape Cod neighbors.  As this web site development progresses, we will include interesting wild flower shots from these islands.

Over the years, residents have introduced hundreds of cultivated species into their gardens, window boxes and deck arrangements.  Many of these cultivated flowers show up along roads, trails and bogs - almost in a wild state.   Year after year they grow, unattended by anyone - always adding that extra touch of beauty to an already exotic, exciting and thoroughly enjoyable environment.

As the site matures, we will make print and clock selections available using our more popular wild flower selections.
